Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 20th century. Swift began showing an interest in the music industry from a very young age. Her career progressed rapidly through the play of kids and her first public appearance in the presence of thousands. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game at the age of 11, she was already creating songs. After that, she took up guitar. Swift was inspired to create her own music by artists from the country genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee when she was 13 after selling their Pennsylvania farm. This allowed Swift to devote more time trying to find labels that would promote country music in Nashville.
